Can you tell us a bit about yourself and why you started Love Goodly?
As a long time vegan and animal advocate, it was always my goal to make sure cruelty free and vegan products made it to the main stream. Also as a new mom, living as nontoxic as possible for both our health and the planet is super important to me.
That’s why we (my cofounder Justine Lassoff and I) started Love Goodly– to make it easier for women to find and then switch to the best beauty and skincare products that are better for them, the animals and the planet!
How does it work and how is it different from other subscription box services?
We are a full-sized product, deluxe subscription box that delivers every other month for only $34.95. The curated mix heavy on the beauty/skincare but also features an eco accessory or healthy snack to make the mix fun. With each box, our subscriber receives good deal on top of finding healthier products–each box is always valued over $85 ! Plus, we always offer our subscribers a chance to personalize one product in each box whether it be a lipstick color or style of a vegan mini purse.
A big part of your mission is giving back. What charities do you work with and how did you decide upon them?
You are right! Giving back is so important to us, it is the backbone of Love Goodly! It also is a way for us to interact with our loyal community. For every box sold or item from our e-commerce store purchased, we support one of our 5 charity partners. True to our mission, we support animal welfare charities such as Farm Sanctuary and Mercy for Animals who actively make and influence change for animal rights. We also support women’s health charities like Cure Cervical Cancer and Cancer Support Community– those are especially near and dear to us, as my cofounder and my mother are breast cancer survivors.
For every box sold or item from our e-commerce store purchased, we support one of our 5 charity partners.
What would you say is the most challenging part of launching Love Goodly?
Work / life balance! As a working mom, I will always have mom guilt whenever I am at the office but I remind myself it is for the greater good of helping more women and I like setting a positive hard working example for my kids 🙂
