Can you tell us a bit about yourself and why you started your own Body and Face Contouring services?
I am a nurse practitioner and have been practicing for about 15 years primarily in Vascular Surgery and Neurosurgery. About 6 years ago I started getting into aesthetics personally and was so happy with my results that I wanted to start doing these services to other people. I worked at a location outside of the city and learned all about facial and body treatments. After perfecting my Coolsculpting and contouring skills, I knew it was time to offer these services in the neighborhood I call home, Boston’s South End, where I have lived for over 10 years. In March of 2020, I opened Contouring By Kate.
What is body and face contouring? What services do you offer?
I specialize in non-invasive body contouring and minimally invasive facial contouring. Basically, I am making enhancements to the face & body that accentuate your natural beauty. For the body, we offer Coolsculpting and Emsculpt. Coolsculpting is non-invasive and permanently removes fat cells from the body. There is no downtime and we can treat anything from the chin, belly, back fat, legs, and more! Emsculpt uses electromagnetism to build muscle. This is also noninvasive and one 30 min session is the equivalent of doing 20,000 squats or crunches. Nearly 100% of the muscle fibers are activated (normal exercise only activates about 30%) and treatments can be performed on the abdomen, buttocks, arms, calves, and thighs.
For the face, we offer Botox, Fillers, and Kybella. Botox temporarily relaxes muscles in the upper face which then reduces and prevents wrinkles. Fillers are used to replace volume loss in the lower face that naturally occurs over time due to aging. They can provide structure to the cheeks, nasolabial folds, lips, and fill lines around the mouth. Kybella is another injectable that we use to kill smaller areas of fat, primarily around the chin and jowls. Results are permanent and it’s a great option because we can customize the treatment to exactly what one needs.
Who is your target customer?
Women and Men age 35-65, are typically interested in health and well-being are in shape but struggling with aging.
What do you love most about your job?
I get to make people happy! People come to me vulnerable and unhappy with something and I can fix it. It might be something small but fixing it can give them so much confidence!

I am a one-woman show. I own and operate my business single-handedly. All consults, treatments, follow-ups, and behind-the-scenes are performed by me! I am my own boss but I am also the boss to your beautification.
