After being a makeup artist for 10 years, why did you decide to start own makeup brand?
About 3 years ago 2 of my good friends worked decided to open their own salon called Latitude 33 Hair Artistry. As they were finalizing plans, they told me to find a makeup line that I would want to sell there. They trusted my judgment and told me I would sell whatever I would use on clients. After working for MAC and being in the industry for so long I had known a little bit about how the makeup business worked. I was planning on starting off small and just selling a few products but as things progressed and I made the decision to start selling online, Pink Dust evolved into a full makeup line.

Can you tell us a bit more about Pink Dust Cosmetics, and what differentiates it from other beauty companies?
Pink Dust is a makeup line made by a make-up artist, designed for real, everyday women. My main goal is to never sacrifice quality. I will never sell anything that I wouldn’t use on myself or on my clients. All of the makeup we sell is high quality and user-friendly. I try to sell colors that everyone would look good in. Pink Dust is meant to make makeup fun and easy.
How are you planning on expanding the company?
Pink Dust is always expanding! We are now sold in 3 different locations in Orange County and working on retailing in other states as well. We are currently working on a custom “Christina Palette” featuring all of Christina El Moussa’s favorite go-to colors. We are also about to launch our new website which is going to be amazing!
What are some of your current favorite beauty trends?
I am a sucker for classic beauty. One of my favorite beauty trends is a super soft natural eye with big lashes and a bold lip. I also love a really warm bronzed smokey eye and a soft nude lip. I love how makeup has evolved to really just enhance people’s natural beauty so you actually see the person instead of the makeup.
