Stacey L. Steinmetz: StimuNail

After garnering experience in the beauty industry, Stacy Steinmetz learned that nail care was the most toxic category in beauty. She decided to create an innovative beauty device that would support nail health naturally and StimuNail was born. Read on to find out more about her story:

Can you tell us a bit about yourself, and why you created StimuNail?

I began my career in beauty over 25 years ago as a cosmetics counter manager while in college. After obtaining my Bachelors in Biological Sciences, I started in product development as a Cosmetic Chemist. As my career progressed, I worked for leading beauty brands such as L’Oreal and Shiseido, as well as small spa, luxury, and cosmeceutical companies, not only developing products but also in retail operations, marketing, and branding management. Given my industry experience, I identified a product need in the market. Nail care is the most toxic category in beauty and consumers today more so than ever, are looking for natural solutions. With innovations such as beauty devices gaining in popularity, I was determined to develop a device that would support nail health naturally. My goal was to create a product for today’s consumer that could be used at home, that would be highly effective and yet chemical and cruelty-free.

What is StimuNail and can you explain to us the technology behind it?

Stimunail is the first-of-its-kind beauty device to support overall nail wellness. It features gentle heat, vibrating massage, and LED light technology which is targeted at the nail matrix area where new nail cells develop and grow. Rather than applying toxic polishes to one’s nails, and constantly trying to repair the damage, Stimunail is a proactive product that treats nails as they are developing to encourage the healthiest nail growth possible. The device is very easy to use, it requires just 3 minutes a day, four days a week to see results. We recommend using the product for a full 12 weeks, that way a large portion of your nail will be made up of nail cells that were treated with the device.

Can you give us tips on how to maintain healthy nails?

One of the most important things someone can do to maintain a healthy nail is to increase hydration and circulation. One of the best ways to do this is by massaging in a simple cuticle oil daily. The more hydrated and supple your nail is, the less peeling, breakage, and the more resiliency it will have. Plus massaging in the oil will boost circulation, and blood flow is what carries nutrients and oxygen to developing nail cells. Stimunail is a great addition to help support healthy nail growth and complements other efforts in your nail care routine with its heat, massage, and light functions.

What does it mean to be a #beautyboss?

I think a beautyboss is someone who not only has a great idea but also the fortitude, courage, and skill to bring the idea to fruition. Throughout my career, I have launched hundreds of products, but I had a large brand with huge marketing dollars behind them to make that possible. Starting a brand on my own was a very different experience. It required daily dedication, going out of my comfort zone, and learning every aspect of the business. We all have great ideas and inventions within us, but it takes a true beauty boss to turn them into reality.
