After working for a year in Greece, Beauty Boss, Theofanis Voukidis noticed a significant difference between the market in the US and Greece. Specifically, he noticed gaps in the Greek beauty market. With the help of aesthetic surgeons and dermatologists, he decided to create a line of male skincare products, Andras Care, formulated with CBD as a key ingredient. Read on to learn about his story:
1) Can you tell us a bit about yourself and why you started Andras Care?
Andras Care is the result of a few factors and is an interesting story! I studied finance and economics at Babson College and graduated in 2018. Wanting to embrace the entrepreneurial spirit, I started working in a start-up in Greece which produced coffee and various coffee-related products. After a year’s work there, and whilst learning a lot about the differences between the market in the United States and Greece, I decided that I wanted to start something of my own, thus I came up with the Idea of Andras Care! While completing my mandatory military service for one year from mid-2019 to mid-2020, I had the time to really research the market, and to work out what was missing from the beauty industry, In Greece and the Balkan region especially. On a side note, it is worth mentioning that my father is a plastic surgeon for the past 40 years or so, and he gave me a lot of help with formulating products with ingredients that actually make a difference. So, exploiting my time, the relative gap in the market, and my Father’s knowledge, I came up with Andras Care! Even though I am not really “born” into the industry, and I would say almost unrelated to it, I decided that all the aforementioned factors would combine very nicely through Andras Care.
2) What is a basic skin routine that men should follow?
One of the hardest things with starting a product like Andras, in a market which many consider conservative such as Greece, is educating your target audience and trying to get rid of the taboo that men and facial care do not mix well! At the most basic level, I always recommend starting with a good face wash, and a daily moisturizing cream. I consider them to be the most important, as the lack of cleaning and correct care for men’s skin results in issues further on in life. Without wanting to get too much into detail, Men have a thicker skin, which breaks much harder than females’ but when it breaks, it breaks hard, creating the overly wrinkled and tired skin that many are used to seeing in older men. Prevention today can save a lot of trouble tomorrow!
3) You use CBD in your products. Can you tell us more about the benefits of this ingredient?
CBD is great! Especially in cosmetics, CBD offers unparalleled benefits as an ingredient and can be seen almost as an all-in-one solution. It is mainly used as an anti-inflammatory agent, getting rid of redness which is all too common nowadays, especially with the constant use of face masks. Secondary benefits include hydration, nourishment in the form of rich complex vitamins, and protects your skin by providing it with antioxidants that can defend against toxins that break down the epidermis.

4) What does it mean to be a #beautyboss?
In my opinion, a #beautyboss is a person who forms a connection with their customers through cosmetics! People are connected more than they may realize through their skin and as a #beautyboss, we share that connection to the fullest. Our products are like our children, and our customers are like our extended family!
